Day Three...going green

This post is going to be quick and dirty I'm afraid. I'm going to make my way to bed after this and I may not get up at all tomorrow. I've been forcing myself to get through the days and get everything (even on a reduced schedule) done but I'm feeling pretty finished and fried. So I may just keep my pajamas on and stay in bed all day tomorrow.

On to today's green news:

7. I brought a timer upstairs and told everyone that it must be set for 10 minutes before they even turn the water on in the shower. No excuses and no exceptions. There are people in this house who take showers that are 20-30 minutes long!! What a waste of energy and water.

8.I'm replacing our incandescents with CFL bulbs as they burn out. I went on a mission today trying to find some that would work in our dining room chandelier. It took me awhile...2 different stores and 3 returns but I finally found some that fit at Loblaws.

That's all for today folks.

  2. I'm looking forward to reading all about this new project you've set out on. A timer in the bathroom is a great idea. I have one in mine, but I need to actually use it more often. ;)

  6. Hi Carolyn and Madison,

Thank you for commenting on my blog. I'm trying out a vegetarian lifestyle myself and so far, it's pretty easy. I'm not as bold as you too - doing the vegan thing. It's funny though, sometimes I will end up eating a vegan meal unintentionally.

I consider myself pretty 'green'. I'm a die hard recycler, I use cloth napkins, reusable grocery bags and I only use paper towels if there's no other option. Maybe it's time for me to up my green game. I'll have to see what you come up with.

I'm very curious about the no 'poo thing. It sounds scary. But if it works, I might give it a try...

  7. Hi Carolyn,
Hope your feeling better soon. I don't know if you've seen this link, after your vegan cleanse, you might be veganened (o.k. I made that up) out. Anyhow, I thought I'd send you a link, I did sign up as I thought it would be interesting to see if some of the extra pounds (too many) I am carrying will come off.
